The Discord Bot

The GameShuffle Discord bot brings your game nights into your server: announcements, self-serve roles, moderation, a daily question, and randomizer slash commands. Configure it under Account › Stream Setup › Discord Bot.

Getting the bot in your server

1. Press Add to Discord on gameshuffle.co/discord, or go to Account › Stream Setup › Integrations, and add the bot to a server where you have Manage Server. You'll be asked to sign in or make a free account first.
2. Open the Discord Bot tab to configure it.

A server can be connected to one GameShuffle account at a time. If someone else already connected it, they need to forget it in their Discord settings on GameShuffle before you can add it.

More than one server

A free account runs the bot in one server; GS Pro runs it in up to five. Add another with Add another serveron the Discord Bot tab, then pick a server at the top of the tab: channels, roles, AutoMod, logging and the Question of the Day hour are set per server. Tags, your question list and polls are shared across them.

• Going live, recaps, Question of the Day, Chat Brain and the Weekly post in every server that has a channel set for them.
• Your first server is your main server (you can change it). If GS Pro ends, the main server keeps working and the others pause: nothing posts there, their settings are kept, and they come back with GS Pro.
• If the bot is removed from a server in Discord, the tab says so. Add it back to pick up where you left off, or forget the server to free the slot.

Play inside Discord

GameShuffle also runs inside Discord as an Activity: the Daily Shuffle, the Weekly Challenge and Chat Brain, in one window everyone in the call or channel can open. Start it from the App Launcher (the rocket in the message bar), with /gs-daily, or with a Play button on one of the bot's posts.

• The Daily needs no account. Players who link Discord to a GameShuffle account keep one streak across Discord and the site.
• The Weekly counts on a GameShuffle account, so the Activity offers to make one (free, with Discord) the first time.
• With the bot in the server, the channel gets one Daily card a day with everyone's rows and scores, and a ranking at 9am Pacific.

Slash commands

• /gs-daily: opens today's Daily Shuffle right in the channel. Works in servers, group chats and DMs. Free for everyone.
• /gs-randomize: rolls for any game GameShuffle has a randomizer for (start typing the game name), with user tagging and per-player re-rolls. Mario Party keeps characters different; Overwatch and Marvel Rivals take a role. Free for everyone.
• /gs-result: post a competitive lounge result. GameShuffle Pro.
• /gs-brain: answer a Chat Brain survey question with one tap and a one-line form. Anyone gets a question just for them; members with Manage Server post one for the whole channel. Route the Chat Brain category to get a new question every day. Free for everyone.
• /gs-weekly: play the Weekly Challenge without leaving Discord. Plays count on the GameShuffle account you sign in to with Discord. Members with Manage Server post the card for the whole channel. Free for everyone.
• /gs-poll: open or close a live poll for your community, with button voting. GameShuffle Pro, Manage Server permission.

Slash commands can take a few minutes to appear after the bot joins.

Trivia on stream: route the Trivia on stream category to a channel and, when you play a trivia night on your stream, each question posts there as it opens, with a button per choice (or an Answer button). Answers count with your chat's, stay hidden until you reveal, and the post shows the answer after. Members with Twitch linked to GameShuffle are the same player as in chat. GameShuffle Pro.

Chat Brain and Weekly posts from the bot keep count of who has answered: as members of your server answer (from the post's buttons, the Weekly form or the Activity in that server), the post updates with how many have answered there and their names.

What the bot can do

On the free tier, the bot posts to a single default channel. GameShuffle Pro adds the full toolkit:

• Channel routing: send each type of GameShuffle post to the channel you choose, by drag and drop.
• Announcements: post now or schedule ahead, with optional follow-up reminders.
• Self-assign roles: reaction, button, or dropdown role pickers your members use themselves.
• Auto-roles: give new members a role on join, and auto-grant a role to your linked GS Pro members.
• AutoMod: block words and switch on preset filters (profanity, sexual content, slurs).
• Server logging: record edits and deletes, joins and leaves, and role changes to a channel.
• Question of the Day: a daily prompt from a pool you manage, posted on your schedule.

Free vs Pro

Free accounts can connect the bot in one server and post to one default channel. More servers (up to five), routing, announcements, roles, AutoMod, logging and QOTD are GameShuffle Pro features. On a free account those cards appear locked with a GS Pro label.

Troubleshooting

• Bot not responding: confirm it's still in the server and Discord is connected under Integrations. See Integration Issues.
• Slash commands missing: wait a few minutes after adding the bot; if they still don't show, remove and re-add it.
• “Missing Permissions”: the bot needs permission to post and manage roles in the channels you've pointed it at.
